I'm a big fan of natural materials like solid wood and stone, which is why I was so excited for this. They add a lot of class and coziness to the home. The colors and veining are beautiful. This fruit dish always feels nice and cool to the touch. Very symmetrical, which natural stone products fairly often aren't. I do have to admit that there are some concentric grooves from the carving process in the bottom of the reservoir, but it's almost impossible to find natural stone products that don't have them. Doesn't really matter though, because when it's full of fruit, you can't see them. I'm actually happy that they're there, because they make it all the more obvious that the dish is carved from solid natural stone. Also, I could just be imagining things, but it really does seem like my fruits last significantly longer in this than they did in my hanging fruit basket. Especially bananas. Don't know if there's any science to that, but I have noticed that I'm no longer rushed to eat things before they go bad.I was a little nervous about having a fruit dish that is footed and so tall, but it's extremely stable. The base is so heavy that you'd pretty much have to be trying to knock it over. And even if you did, it's solid, I doubt it would break unless it takes a full fall onto a tile floor. Even then, it would probably crack your tile and only get a small chip, it's that hefty and solid.Been using it a few months now and couldn't be happier with it. Fantastic product, and you can tell from the packaging and "thank you" card that came with it that this company, RadicalN, clearly takes great pride in their products. I plan to buy one of their chess sets because of how impressed and happy I am with their work.
